Tattered & Worn weaves monologue, song and sketches into an entertaining look at the way God interacts with God’s people, from Genesis to Revelation. A homeless man (Ted) and a piano-playing angel (Jeff) enact a story of faith lost and found.
Finding the humor and humanity in biblical stories has long been a hallmark of Ted & Lee TheaterWorks. In Tattered & Worn, Ted and Jeff explore what it means to worship a God who searches for connections with us, even sending His Son to live among us. Incorporating favorite scenes from the Fish-Eyes and Creation Chronicles shows, Ted and Jeff have created a show that explores what it means to lose your faith – and to find it again.
The show opens with a homeless man (Zeus, played by Ted) finding a tattered, worn book in the subway and witnessing the death of a jay-walking pigeon. With the help of a piano-playing angel (Gabriel, played by Jeff), Zeus rediscovers the faith he lost years ago as Gabriel encourages him to enact some great Bible stories.
Tattered & Worn is appropriate for all ages.
Full show length: 90 minutes
What others are saying about Tattered and Worn…
"Awesome presentation. Very well done. Great for the average person. Don't need to be a scripture buff to appreciate it. For the scripture buff - it was a great reminder. I think the audience could feel the emotions of Ted portraying all characters which was totally moving. The audience responded with enthusiasm and gratitude. It's what many people need right now to bring them back to faith. The evening was very enjoyable and rewarding. Many asked when we could bring them back again." - Tina Kovalcik, Richmond, MI, Oct. 2009
